Mary Frank Fox is a sociologist of science and an ADVANCE professor in the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on gender, science, and academia. ==Education and Professional History== Mary Frank Fox received a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Sociology from University of Michigan. Her professional appointments and offices have included: co-chair and member of the Social Science Advisory, the National Center for Women and Information Technology; consultant for the Study of Gender Differences in Science and Engineering, National Research Council/National Academy of Sciences; member of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Science and Human Resources Expert Committee; advisory Review Panel for NSF Workshop on Using Human Resource Data; past president of the Sociologists for Women in Society (SWS); founding associate editor of (Gender & Society ), and member of the editorial advisory board of the (Social Studies of Science ). She is a member of the Council of the Section on Science, Knowledge, and Technology of the American Sociological Association.
